NICHOLAS D. “NIC” LENZ

CLEAR LAKE - Nicholas D. “Nic” Lenz, 13 year-old son of Mark and Lisa Lenz, of 6 S. 19th St., died Thursday (Sept. 9, 1999) at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13, at the United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Fred Lewis officiating. Interment will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., Clear Lake and again from 9 until 11:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. There will be additional visitation one hour prior to services on Monday at the church. The family suggests memorials to the Nicholas D. Lenz Memorial Fund.

Nic was born Oct. 14, 1985 in Mason City, the son of Mark and Lisa (Bachellor) Lenz.. He was in the eighth grade in Clear Lake Middle School.

Nic enjoyed collecting Beanie Babies, cooking pancakes for the family, his Saturday morning trips to the Village Store, riding horses, babysitting little kids, riding his bike, and his animals, and he was a Chicago Bull fan.

He was a Globe-Gazette carrier.

He was a confirmed member of the United Methodist Church of Clear Lake and a member of the United Methodist Church Youth Group.

Nic is survived by his parents, Mark and Lisa Lenz, of Clear Lake; his brother, Dustin Lenz, of Clear Lake; maternal grandmother, Helene Bachellor, of Clear Lake; paternal grandparents, Gayle and Carol Lenz, of Riverside, Calif.; paternal great-grandmother, Alice Sessions, of Mason City; four aunts, Patty Biery and her husband, Dan, of Mason City, Lori Adams and her husband, Brad, of Northwood, Laura Bachellor, of Charles City, and Lynn Bachellor, of Houston, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Paul Bachellor, in 1983.
