LUCILLE E. “TOOTIE” WINTERS

VENTURA - Lucille E. “Tootie” Winters, 78, of 1037 19th St. S.W., Mason City, formerly of Ventura, died Friday (Aug. 18, 2000) at the I.O.O.F. Home in Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ventura United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Paul Hasel officiating. Interment will be in Ventura Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., Clear Lake. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Lucille E. Winters Memorial Fund.

Lucille was born Sept. 19, 1921, in Ventura, the daughter of Lloyd and Antha (Shuck) Ringgenberg. She attended school in Ventura.

On April 20, 1940, she married Richard A. Winters in Mason City. They lived their married life in the Ventura-Clear Lake area. Her husband was killed on the job in April of 1954 and she was left to raise their six children.

Lucille was always there for her family and friends. She enjoyed listening to music, mostly because she loved to sing along with it. She also enjoyed word-search puzzles, playing bingo and going out to eat. Picnics were her favorite, especially eating potato salad. She loved dancing and listening to her son's band. The family will always remember her for her love of a good laugh.

Lucille will be sadly missed by her six children, Bonnie Al-Jazaf, Clear Lake, Ron Winters and his wife, Pat, Watertown, S.D., Gary Winters and his wife, Cheryl, Alexander, Patricia Osier, Mason City, Cindy Ebeling and her husband, Jim, Mason City, and Dick Winters and his wife, Joella, Mason City; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one brother, Cecil Ringgenberg and his wife, Jeanne, Clear Lake; and three sisters, Maxine Duclos, Clear Lake, Almeda Lewis and her husband, Lefty, Mason City and Bertus Daniels and her husband, Bob, Hollandale, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons-in-law; a grandson, Mark Winters; and a granddaughter, Kelly Ebeling.
