FIRCREST, Wash. — Charles F. Joynt, 69, of Fircrest, Wash., formerly of Mason City, Iowa, died Saturday morning (April 2, 2005) while vacationing at Winter Haven, Fla.

His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 302 5th St. S.E., Mason City, with the Rev. Michael Podhajsky officiating. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 2nd St. S.E., Mason City. A prayer vigil service will be recited at 6 this evening. Visitation will continue on Saturday at the church, one hour prior to Charles' service.

Charles Francis Joynt was born Aug. 8, 1935, in Mason City, to Francis H. and Mildred (Connelly) Joynt. He attended schools in Mason City, Albert Lea, Minn., and graduated in the class of 1955 from Steinmetz High School in Chicago, Ill. Charles furthered his education at St. Ambrose College, receiving a B.A. degree in business.

Charles was employed with the Milwaukee Railroad and Union Pacific Railroad as a freight agent, retiring in 1988. He enjoyed traveling extensively, spending time in the company of his relatives and friends and tending to yard work at his home.

Charles will be greatly missed by all who have shared in his life.

He is survived by the special lady in his life, Jeanice Jerome, of Tacoma, Wash.; his brother, Jack (Maureen) Joynt, of Louisville, Ken.; his two nieces, Patricia (Arthur) Gall and Laura (Charles) Stiebling, and one nephew, Kevin (Cara) Joynt, all of Louisville, Ken., and numerous other relatives and friends.

Preceding Charles in death were his parents, Francis H. and Mildred Joynt.
