Glen J. Amosson, 88, of Clear Lake, died at his home, Monday, June 29, 1998.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 2, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran
Church, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Kermit Roisen and Rev. Dean Hess
officiating. Interment will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be
at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, today (Wednesday), July 1, from
3 to 7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be
made to the Clear Lake Senior Citizens or Opportunity Village.

Glen was born April 12, 1910 at Renwick, Iowa, the son of Amos and Julia
(Jurgenson) Amosson. He married Agnes Ulstad Jan. 14, 1933 in Sioux City, Neb.
They moved south of Clear Lake where they farmed. Glen and Agnes moved into
their present home in Clear Lake in 1975, but continued to help his sons on
the farm.

He enjoyed going down to the Senior Citizens Center to play cards, shooting
pool, and fishing with his boys. Time spent with his family was very important
to Glen.

Glen was a former member of the FHA board, Zion Lutheran Board of Trustees,
Burchinal Elevator Co-op Board, (25 years), Mt. Vernon Township Trustee,
Farmer’s Co-op Gas and Oil Board, Mason City, Iowa, Clear Lake Senior Citizens
(Board Past President), and past Farm Bureau president.

He is survived by his wife, Agnes Amosson, Clear Lake; three sons, Roger
Amosson and his wife, Barbara, Clear Lake, Ron Amosson and his wife, Susan,
West Des Moines, Iowa, Bob Amosson and his wife, Patricia, Rockwell, Iowa; one
brother, Orville Amosson and his wife, Ann, of Ottumwa, Iowa; one sister
Rozella Anderson and her husband, Clifford, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; six
grandchildren, Vicky Bertz, Susan Finnegan and her husband, Mike, Amy Pierce
and her husband, Jeff, Scott Amosson and his wife, Vonnie, Jeremy Amosson and
Aaron Amosson; eight great-grandchildren, Jenny Bertz, Sarah Bertz, Chris
Finnegan, Patrick Finnegan, Nicholas Pierce, Meg Pierce, Whitney Dye and Colby
Dye.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Gladys Jotten and Bertha
Hansen; and six brothers, Sam Amosson, Eddy Amosson, Harold Amosson, Duane
Amosson, Donald Amosson and Richard Amosson.
