Charles P. "Buster" LOWE, 94, Clear Lake, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006 at
Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 12, at the United
Methodist Church, 508 2nd Ave N., Clear Lake, with the Rev. Diana Hoover and
Pastor Ron Feuerhak officiating. Interment will be at the Clear Lake Cemetery
with military honors by the Clear Lake V.F.W. Post 4868.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 ­ 8 p.m. at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel.
Memorials may be given to Hospice of North Iowa or Apple Valley Assisted Living.

Charles, "Buster" was born May 12, 1912, in Kirksville, Mo., the son of Charles
Cecil and Edith PARIS LOWE and step-mother Cleo LOWE. He attended schools in
Kirksville, Mo. and Worth County after the family moved to north Iowa. He
married Myrtle MILLER Dec. 21, 1936, on Myrtle's parent's farm south of Clear
Lake. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1944, and served in the 14th Armored
Division and was stationed in Germany and France. His division marched 2,000
miles in nine months. Following the war, Buster returned to his work at Rath Packing
Co. in Waterloo, Iowa, as a general mechanic. He retired after 40 years. He was
a member of the Gemologist Club in Waterloo and Rock Club in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
They moved to Clear Lake in August 1994.

Buster was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Waterloo for 60
years and was a member of the Clear Lake United Methodist Church. He was also a
member of the Waterloo VFW Post 1623 and the Clear Lake V.F.W. 4868.

Buster is survived by his daughter, Charlotte SNOOK and her husband, Robert,
Edina, Minn.; his son, Wayne LOWE and his wife, Imagene, Waterloo; six
grandchildren, Robert SNOOK and his wife, Judith, Stephanie FRISVOLD and her
husband, Todd, Thomas SNOOK and his wife, Andrea, James SNOOK and his wife,
Tracy, Jean BIENFANG and her husband, Arlon, and John LOWE; great-grandchildren
Drew and Kirsten, Alex, Benjamin and Zachary, Tucker and Ellory and Chloe;
sisters, Freda RAZEB and her husband, Norman, Plymouth, Iowa and Verna ANGEL,
Mason City; along with nieces and nephews; and his "family" at Apple Valley
Assisted Living.

Buster is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Myrtle on June 13, 2001;
one daughter, Kay Marie LOWE; four brothers, Harley, Rolland, J.C. and Donald;
three sisters, Delma HUNTLEY, Thelma JOHNSON and Gladys WHITEHURST.
