Gene Ludwig, 69, of 1418 Stanford St., Port Charlotte, Fla., died Tuesday,
Oct. 18, 1994 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Ward-Van
Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake. Burial will be in Clear
Lake Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials in his name.

He was born March 12, 1925 in Newton, Iowa the son of Emery Ludwig and Olive
Loveland Ludwig.

He graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1943 and served in the United
States Navy during World War II. He was employed by VyLactos Laboratories in
Des Moines, Iowa and became manager of the company's Syracuse, Ind. plant.

He married Marian Corinne Sandry Jan. 19, 1946 in Iowa City, Iowa. The couple
moved to Florida in 1987 after his retirement.

He was a former member and past vice president of the Rotary Club in Syracuse,
Ind.

He is survived by his wife, Corrine, of Port Charlotte, Ind.; four children,
Elizabeth Johnson of Port Charlotte, Sam Ludwig and his wife Cindy of
Edwardburg, Mich., Peter Ludwig of Orlando, Fla. and John Ludwig and his wife
Robin of Tombstone, Ariz; two sisters, Nancy Ogelsby and her husband Jack of
London, Ontario, Canada and Mary Lou Jefferson and her husband Phil of Delmar,
Calif.; and seven grandchilren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert Ludwig and
William Ludwig.
