Joseph “Joe” Wayne Templeton, 77, died Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at the Good
Shepherd Health Care Center, Mason City, Iowa.

A funeral service was held for Joe on Monday, Nov. 30, at Zion Lutheran
Church, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Dean Hess officiating. Burial was in the
Clear Lake Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa.

Joseph Wayne Templeton was born June 4, 1932, in Sedalia, Mo., the son of
Benjamin Orville and Cora Ethel (Bowers) Templeton. When he was a young child
his family moved to Clear Lake. Joe attended Clear Lake Schools. He enlisted
in the United States Army serving during the Korean War and was later honorably
discharged. Joe was united in marriage to Frances Beringer on Nov. 13, 1954,
in Rapid City, S.D. To this union five children were born.

Joe owned and operated the Tile Manufacturing and the Bowling Alley in
Dows, Iowa. He owned and operated the North Shore Standard and was a foreman
and plant manager for Zeidlers in Clear Lake.

Joe was a member of the Evening Lions and the Zion Lutheran Church, Clear
Lake. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a huge Iowa Hawkeye fan.

Joe is survived by his children, Steve (Lisa) Templeton, Nora Springs,
Iowa, Terry (April) Templeton, Clear Lake, Greg (Lisa) Templeton, Phoenix, Az.,
Chris Templeton and Susan Templeton, both of Clear Lake; grandchildren Alex,
Allison, Jacob and William Templeton; brother, Lloyd (Betty) Templeton, Mason
City; sister-in-law, Marlys Templeton, Independence, Iowa; brother-in-law, Leroy
(Beverly) Beringer, Rapid City, S.D.; brothers-in-law, Winfred Straub, Central
City, S.D. and Duane Hahn, Clear Lake; along with several nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Frances; brother, Orville;
and sister, Ethel.
