Verneice Pedersen, 86, of Swaledale, Iowa died Saturday, June 5, 2010 at the
Rockwell Nursing Home, Rockwell, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 9, at the United
Methodist Church in Swaledale with the Rev. John Scherb officiating. Interment
will be at the Mt. Vernon Township Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the
Verneice Pedersen Memorial Fund.

Verneice was born March 19, 1924 in Swaledale, the daughter of Peter and Freda
(Schonhorst) Fessler. She graduated from Swaledale High School and then
attended Hamilton Business School. She married John Pedersen on Oct. 21, 1945
at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, Iowa.

She and John opened Pedersen Implement in Swaledale in 1956, where she was the
bookkeeper until they retired in 1980. Verneice enjoyed gardening, canning and
especially cooking for the family get-togethers.

She was a member of Swaledale United Methodist Church, where she also was a
Sunday school teacher and M.Y.F. leader.

Verneice is survived by three children, Clifford Pedersen and his wife, Gaye,
Cresco, Iowa, Janice McCleish and her husband, Richard, Liberty, Mo., and Randy
Pedersen and friend, Jean Hilbert, Wesley, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Jennie
(David) Mills, Julie (Kevin) Carter, Lisa (Daryl) Sobolik, Angela (Scott)
Linard, Matthew (Nicole) McCleish, Johnny (Jenny) Pedersen, Katie Pedersen and
friend, Troy Smeby, and Arthur (Molly) Pedersen; 13 great-grandchildren; sister,
Alma Spillman, Clear Lake, and many nieces and nephews.

Verneice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John in 2009; two
brothers, Lloyd and Harold Fessler; and one sister, Anne Barlow.
