Paul M. Orr Sr., 82, of 1301 Summit St., Marshalltown, Iowa died Monday,
July 6, 2009 at the Iowa Veterans Home, Marshalltown.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 9, at the Ward-Van Slyke
Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at the
funeral home and one hour before the service on Thursday. Interment will be in
the Clear Lake Cemetery with military honors provided by the Clear Lake V.F.W.
Family requests all memorials to go to Hospice of North Iowa or Clear Lake
V.F.W.

Paul was born April 26, 1927 in Duncombe, Iowa the son of George and Gladys
(Reckard) Orr. He attended school in Duncombe.

He lived on the Brushy Farm rural Duncombe, until serving in the U.S. Army
during WWII. Following the service he moved back to Ft. Dodge, Iowa. He
married Erma Quillen in 1949, she preceded him in death in 1959. While living
in Ft. Dodge he drove Midget Race Cars in Webster City, Iowa.

He married Marilyn Marshall in 1962 and in 1987 she preceded him in death.
They moved to Clear Lake in 1965. He worked for the Clear Lake Schools as a
bus driver, “Smiley,” for over nine years. He moved to Iowa Veterans Home in
Marshalltown in 2000.

Paul attended auctioneering school and enjoyed auctioneering.

Paul is survived by four children, Sally Ellefson and her husband, Vern,
Clear Lake, Paul M. Orr Jr., Forest City, Iowa, Roberta Prescott and her
husband, Clayton, Garner, Iowa and Barbara Oelberg, Joice, Iowa; nine
grandchildren, LeRoy Perteet, Matthew Flaten, Tammy Heginger, Candy Kišš, Trixy
Smith, Shelly Mego, Bridgett Purcell, Chad Oelberg and Daniel Orr; 19
great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Orr and his wife, Bonnie, Sonoma,
Calif. and Loyd Orr and his wife, Margaret, Lincoln, Neb.; three sisters,
Florence Stephensen, Webster City, Laura Kilborn, Ostrander, Minn. and Mary
Bentley and her husband, Clair, Webster City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Erma and Marilyn; an
infant daughter, Pauline; and two sisters, Wanda Cunningham and Rose Marie Orr.
