Michael Dean “Mike” Krutsinger, 47, Kansas City, Mo., died Monday, Oct. 31,
2011, at his home, following a yearlong battle with leukemia. Memorial services
were held Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Evangelical Free Church, Clear Lake, with
Pastor Randy Vaage officiating. Inurnment was at the Clear Lake Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Be the Match Foundation or the Leukemia and Lymphoma
Society.Mike was born Oct. 16, 1964 in Mason City, Iowa, the son of Richard and Harriet
(Stangler) Krutsinger. He graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1983. While
in high school he was involved in marching band, choir, speech, drama and
musicals. Following high school he attended NIACC.Mike worked at various places in sales, working his way up to sales manager and
district manager, and ended up as Sales Manager for Nebraska Furniture Mart in
Kansas City, Kan. He loved spending time with family, nieces and nephews, and
friends and “extended family.” He enjoyed traveling, going to the mountains of
Colorado and Yosemite National Park. He liked being outdoors and hiking.Mike is survived by his parents, Richard and Harriet Krutsinger, Clear Lake;
three siblings, Linda Gutschmidt and her husband, Roger, Gackle, N.D., Doug
Krutsinger and his wife, Kelli, Marengo, Iowa and Jeff Krutsinger and his wife,
DeAnn, Forest City, Iowa; paternal grandmother, Evelyn Rensink, Mason City;
nieces and nephews, John and Sarah Gutschmidt, Gackle, N.D., Ian and Emma
Krutsinger, Marengo, and Madelynn and Micaiah Krutsinger, Forest City; special
uncle and aunt, Bob and Joanne White, Ventura; special friends, Stephen and
Krista Wright, Kansas City; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.Mike was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather; maternal grandparents;
and paternal step-grandfather.
