later be donated in Jennies memory to local Christian Radio station KJCY.

Left to cherish her memory are her children and their spouses, Martha Gunderson
(Jim) Ham Lake, Minn., Mary Sawin (Bob), Kensett, Iowa, Julie Azeltine (Pat)
Clear Lake, Jane Suby (Rich) Miller, Joann Kroneman (Allan) St. Ansgar, Iowa,
and Alan Baker (Shirley) Ventura; 11 grandchildren, Melinda, Tina, Eric, Molly,
Kelly, Chadd, Andrew, Susie, Ashley, Jennie Jo, and Angie; 12
great-grandchildren; one sister, Inga Nordaas; and sisters-in-law Donna Oswald
and June Oswald; and many nieces and nephews.

Jennie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chadd Baker; brothers,
Swen, Gordon and Alf Oswald; and one great-grandson.

Jennie Oswald was born on July 5, 1919, near Elmore, Minn. to Sigvert and Martha
Oswald. She often spoke of the hardships of farm life during the depression. She
also shared many funny stories of her and siblings. Jennie quit school to help
with duties around home. She later went to beauty school. Jennie joined Chadd L.
Baker in marriage on Nov. 12, 1944 and they welcomed five girls (Martha, Mary,
Julie, Jane, Joann) and one boy (Alan) into the family. They farmed in rural
Ventura for more than 35 years.

It's hard to know where to start to tell of her interests and accomplishments.
Many folks in that day and age worked hard on the farm along with raising
children, and she was no exception. They had a huge garden, dairy cattle, hogs,
horses, and of course, chickens. She catered the Stomer Auctions with family and
friends in the late 60s and then ran the Chuck-Wagon restaurant with her sister,
Inga. She had a real gift for making the most of what she had to make her house
a home. Jennie was known for her gift of hospitality and servant-hood. She was
an avid cook and Baker! The real passion in her life was her faith and family.
Jennie was most thankful for our Lord and Savior, demonstrating his love in her
daily life. She prayed often and passed this love and faith onto her family.
Chadd and Jennie were members of Faith Lutheran Church in Miller, Iowa, and
later attended services at the Evangelical Free Church in Clear Lake.

The Baker family has been blessed by many wonderful memories and wish to thank
God for the life he gave us with our loving family and we cherish the love he
showed us through our mom, Jennie Baker.
