Dorance E. E. Buck Rosendahl, 80, 1310 Village Road, Clear Lake, went home to be
with his Lord and Saviour on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2010 at Oakwood Care
Center, Clear Lake. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, April 9,
at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Ventura, with the Rev. Daird Korth officiating.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 8, from 5 ? 7:30 p.m. at Ward-Van Slyke
Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery,
Highway 122, Mason City, with military honors provided by the Clear Lake V.F.W.
Memorials may be given to the Dorance Rosendahl Memorial Fund.

Dorance was born Dec. 17, 1929 on a farm near Garner, Iowa, to Ervin and Alma
(Lauden) Rosendahl. He was baptized and confirmed at Peace Reformed Church near
Garner. In 1936 his family moved to a farm near Ventura, where he attended
school and graduated from Ventura High School in 1948. In 1950 he married
Marilyn Olson and they began their life together. In August 1952 Dorance
entered the U.S. Army and served 18 months in Japan before being called home
early to help his father. He began his farming career in 1954 and retired in
1991.

Dorance was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Ventura, where he served his
Lord in many capacities including deacon, trustee, Sunday School teacher and
usher. He also served his community for many years as a school board member,
Hancock County Co-op board member and Farm Bureau board member. He also was a
leader for the Ventura Hustlers 4-H Club and a lifetime Farm Bureau member. He
and Marilyn moved to their retirement home in Clear Lake in 1988 where he
enjoyed many activities such as traveling, golfing, boating, fishing, and
woodworking. They also enjoyed wintering at Orange Beach, Ala.

Dorance is survived by four children, David Rosendahl and his wife, Connie,
Ventura, Lynne Rosendahl and his wife, Mary, Clear Lake, Beth Johnson and her
husband, Randy, Clear Lake, and Jane Martin and her fiance, Adrian Williams,
Nashville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Justin (Jennifer) Rosendahl, Shawnee Mission,
Ks., Kenneth Rosendahl, St. Louis, Mo., Adam (Anna) Rosendahl, 29 Palms, Calif.,
Angela Rosendahl, Jacksonville, Fla., Andrew (Joan) Rosendahl, Atsugi, Japan;
step-grandson, Matthew (Cara) Wegner, Washington, D.C.; step-granddaughter, Lisa
(Jobe) Brogden, Boone, Iowa, Melissa Martin and her special friend, Eric Hayes,
Nashville, Ann Casey Martin, Knoxville, Tenn., and Brett McMahan, Maryville,
Tenn.; great-grandchildren, Abigail, Oliver, Eli, Alexis and Aiden Rosendahl
and three step-great-grandchildren, Kallie Brogden, Ross and Claire Wegner;
brother, Glen Rosendahl and his wife, Jean, Salem, Va.; sister, LuElla Pitkin,
Andrews, Texas; sister-in-law, Phylliss Rosendahl, Mason City; and many nieces,
nephews, cousins and friends.

Dorance was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marilyn (Dec. 10, 2006);
brother, Marvin Rosendahl; and brother-in-law, Curtis Pitkin.
