Roshni Antoinette Joseph, 10-month-old infant daughter of Jude and Nalini
Joseph of Clear Lake, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, at the University of Iowa
Children’s Hosptial, Iowa City, Iowa.

Roshni was born with a heart condition called Tetralogy of Fallot, which
required surgery six months after birth. While battling complications from
three surgeries and multiple procedures in an effort to correct her heart
defect, Roshni showed tremendous patience, endurance, as well as a fiery
determination and will to live.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, at St. Patrick’s
Catholic Church, 1001 9th Ave South, Clear Lake, with the Rev. John Tilp
officiating. The burial will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery, Clear Lake.

Memorials may be directed to the Roshni A. Joseph Memorial Fund in care of
Jude and Nalini Joseph, 1001 South 15th Street, Clear Lake, Iowa 50428. Funds
will later be donated to the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital.

Roshni Antoinette Joseph was born March 24, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center
North Iowa, Mason City. Roshni was baptized on August 10, 2008, at St.
Patrick’s Catholic Church, Clear Lake where she enjoyed attending choir practice
with her mommy! Roshni loved listening to music, and her favorite book was
“Princess Baby.”

Roshni means “light”; she would brighten everyone’s day with her beautiful
smile. Along with light, Roshni loved the outdoors, looking at the trees,
watching the rain and enjoying the sunshine. She really enjoyed her stroller
rides around the lake with her mommy, daddy, and grandparents. Her favorite
color was lavender and her favorite stuffed animal was her little lamb.

Roshni is survived by her parents, Jude and Nalini Joseph; grandparents,
Thio (Mary) Joseph, Ajax, Canada, the Rev. William (Beulah) Jones, Durham, N.C.;
aunts and uncles, Clinton (Shilani) Joseph, Brantford, Canada, Linda (Mark)
Sarang, Ajax, Canada, the Rev. Dr. Arun (Yolanda) Jones, Austin, Texas, Sharon
Jones, Durham, Kenneth (Sunita) Jones; cousins, Gavin Joseph, Declan Joseph,
Suresh, Amihan, Christopher and Daniel Jones; along with many other relatives
and friends.

Roshni is preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Wayne and Margaret
Jones, the Rev. Alfred P. and Pyarkali Kessop, Santhio and Elizabeth Thio, and
Victor and Theresamah Louis.

Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
