Jean Schramm, 80, of Clear Lake, Iowa died Tuesday January 1, 2013 at the Mercy
Medical Center North Iowa, Mason City, Iowa.

Memorial services will be 2:00p.m. Monday January 7, 2013 at the Ward-Van Slyke
Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake with Interim Pastor Kirk Wilkie of Zion Lutheran
Church officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Inurnment
will be held at a later time at Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, Iowa. Family
suggests memorials to Jean Schramm memorial fund.

Jean was born March 21, 1932 in Great Yarmouth, England the daughter of Jack and
Agnes (Darby) Taylor. She attended school in England.

She met her future husband Reuben Schramm while he was stationed in England.
They were married Dec. 20, 1952.

They settled in Clear Lake where they raised their family. She worked at Houck
Drug and then for over thirty years at Opportunity Village retiring June 2009.

She enjoyed playing bridge and was a member of a bridge club for over fifty one
years. She enjoyed going to Casino’s with her family, shopping, going out to
lunch, visiting with her friends and sending them cards. She really enjoyed
spending time with her family and was known for her great chocolate chip
cookies, Yorkshire pudding and chocolate chip pies.

Jean is survived by her three children John Schramm, Clear Lake, Iowa, Laura
Thompson, Des Moines, Iowa and Susan Weipert, Clear Lake, Iowa; five
grandchildren Nick Weipert and his fiancé Samantha Johnson, Osage, Iowa, Nigel
Thompson and his girlfriend Kelly Jones, Des Moines, Iowa, Julia (Russ) Wright,
Anchorage, Alaska, Zach Thompson, Des Moines, Iowa and Katy Weipert, Clear
Lake, Iowa; great-granddaughter Erica Duffy, Anchorage, Alaska; two brothers
John (Heather) Taylor, Bradwell England and Ron (Anita) Taylor, Lowestoft,
England; sister Violet (David) Butler Great Yarmouth, England and a special
niece Doreen Skelton and her husband Rick, Bradwell, England.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Reuben and a sister Pat
Osbourne and her husband Fred.
