Cheryl L. Deike, 61, Mason City, Iowa, died Thursday, March 8, 2007, at the
Good Shepherd Health Center, Mason City, Iowa.

Funeral services were held on Monday, March 12, at the Christian Church,
Clear Lake, with the Rev. Dennis Ganz officiating. Interment was at the Clear
Lake Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Cheryl Deike Memorial Fund.

Cheryl was born Aug. 11, 1945, in Mason City, the daughter of Ellsworth and
Mary Elizabeth (Keeney) Helm. Cheryl attended school at Popejoy, Iowa and
graduated from Alden High School in 1963, then attended Upper Iowa College
Fayette. She worked at Mercy Hospital as an aide.

Cheryl married Roger Deike, Sept. 23, 1967, in Mason City and they lived in
the Clear Lake area. Cheryl and Roger raised two children. She enjoyed
attending school activities and sporting events. She was always in the stands,
cheering on her two children and many "extra" children. She was a second
mother to many.

Cheryl loved her dogs, reading, gardening, fishing and camping with her
family, rides in the country, and watching her grandchildren.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, Roger Deike of Mason City; two children,
Joyce Deike and her husband, Scott Smed, of Mason City and Mark Deike and his
wife, Jodi, of Iowa City, Iowa, and their three children, Elisabeth, Katie and
Sam Deike; her father, Ellsworth Helm, of Popejoy; two sisters, Carol (Tom)

Vanderloop and Becky (Carroll) Kalous both of Alden, Iowa; sisters and
brothers-in-laws: Fonda Hickethier, of Alden, Don (Carol) Deike of Clear Lake,
Lola (Frank) Barrick of Center Point, Iowa, Jim (Mildred) Deike of Greene,
Iowa, Leroy (Lois) Deike of Mason City, Waneta (Ray) Leege of Odebolt, Iowa,
Marlin (Diane) Deike of Mason City, Evonne (Dale) Lents of Winterset, Iowa,
and Al (Sue) Deike of Mason City; and many nieces and nephews.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her mother, Mary "Betty" Helm; step-mother,
Eva Helm; step-brother, Marlyn Hickethier, and two infant nieces.

Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
