Beatrice "Bea" Saucke 84, of 100 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, Iowa passed away
unexpectedly Saturday, April 24, 2004, at home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 3, at Zion Lutheran
Church, 112 N. Fourth St., in Clear Lake, with the Rev. Dean Hess officiating.
There will be 3 p.m. graveside service Monday at the Gowrie Cemetery, Gowrie,
Iowa.

Friends may greet the family from 7 - 8 p.m. Sunday, May 2, at the Ward-Van
Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake.
Beatrice M. Hanson was born Aug. 2, 1919, the daughter of Adolph and Esther
(Pearson) Hanson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, and
was a graduate of the American Institute of Business in Des Moines.
She married Ted Saucke on June 28, 1942, at Zion Lutheran Church in Gowrie.
They owned a retail hardware business in Clear Lake for many years. As an
executive legal secretary, local attorneys Thorkel Sondrol, Sr., Thorkel
Sondrol, Jr., Mark Schoeller and most recently, Matt Berry, employed her. She
was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake, and belonged to Praise
Circle.
She was humbled when being honored as Mother of the Year in 1972 and as Legal
Secretary of the Year in 1980. Her hobbies included being Ted's Cessna
co-pilot, riding scooters and being a test cook for Betty Crocker Kitchens.
Her surviving family includes daughters Linda (Tom) Sage, of Mason City, Lois
(Serge) Saucke-Lacelle, of Montreal/Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada, and Rhonda
Saucke, of Clear Lake. Her grandchildren are Renay (Tom) Nestvedt, of Mason
City, Matt (Jessy) Sage, of Chicago, Ill. and Erin, Amy and Eric
Saucke-Lacelle, all of Montreal/Sherbrooke. Tyler and Justis Nesatvedt of
Mason City are her great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by two sisters, Rosalie (Earl) Grindheim, of Richfield,
Minn., and Florine (Ed) Gilbertson, of Minneapolis, Minn. and many nieces and
nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents and most recently her husband, Ted, in
March, 2004.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to her dear friends and
family members who over the last several years have helped her, supported her
and kept her and her family in their prayers.
The family requests memorials may be given to the Beatrice Saucke Memorial
Fund.
Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
