Kenneth Wayne PIERCE, fireman first class, has returned to Brooklyn, N. Y., after a furlough spent here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. PIERCE, 125 Jackson avenue southwest. He is in the navy.

Was Last Heard From 2 Months Ago When He Was in Sicily
Mr. and Mrs. Wayne C. PIERCE, 125 Jackson S. W., have received word from Rear Adm. Randall Jacobs, chief of naval personnel, that their son, Kenneth Wayne PIERCE, motor machinist's mate 2nd class, is missing "following action in the performance of his duty and in the service of his country."
Machinist's Mate PIERCE was serving in the Mediterranean theater of war and was last heard from 2 months ago when he was in Sicily. He is the oldest son of the PIERCES. The other 4 children are 2 sets of twins, Jack and Jeannette and Louise and Lucille. Jack is also in the navy, at present based out from the west coast. Lucille is in services with the WAVES in San Francisco.
Mrs. Louise CORE lives at home with her parents. Her husband, private 1st class, is stationed in New Jersey. Mrs. Jeannette BERRY lives at 642 Pennsylvania S.W.
PIERCE has been overseas since April. He entered service in the navy in April, 1942, and took his boot training in San Diego, later going to the Great Lakes for further training. He has also trained in Ohio, Virginia, Maryland and New York.
NOTE: MoMM 2/C Kenneth Wayne PIERCE was declared deceased in January of 1946.
