Raymond and Frank KING, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond KING, 1436 Madison avenue northwest, are serving in the United States army and navy, respectively, in areas many thousands of miles apart. Raymond, 27-year-old private first class in the quartermaster corsp, was in the first contingent of the A. E. F. to reach Ireland in January. He has been in the army since last May.
The local man recently wrote his parents and inclosed (sic) a picture of a fellow soldier and himself wich appeared in a newspaper in Ireland. The news photo, showing the Americans eating their first meal in Irish soil, was captioned "DOUGHBOYS ARE HERE" and went on to state "American soldiers enjoying refreshments on arrival in North Ireland."
Raymond's brother, Frank, 23, is serving he second enlistment in the navy, and has the ranking of a petty officer first class. He is stationed on a heavy cruiser somewhere in the Pacific. His wife was at Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, when the Japs attacked, but escaped injury. She is now residing in California. Frank KING was last heard from about a month ago, when he was in the Hawaiian area.

IN SOUTH PACIFICParents of Local Man Recieve Word From United States Navy
Mr and Mrs. Ray KING, 105 Fifteenth street northwest, have recieved word from the United States government that their son, Frank KING, 21, of the United States navy, has been reported missing in action. No details have been received.
Mr. KING enlisted in October, 1937. He was a first class petty officer on duty in the Pacific. He enlisted there upon his graduation from the Mason City high school and was serving his second enlistment.
Mr. KING'S wife, who was at Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941, when the Japs attacked, is now residing in California with her mother.
A brother, Raymond KING, Jr., is in the quartermaster division of the army stationed in Northern Ireland. He was in the first contingent of the A. E. F. to reach Ireland.

Word has been received here that Frank KING, water tender second class, U.S. navy, previously reported as missing, was killed in action in the South Pacific. The 24-year-old Mason Cityan is buried on a possession of the United States.
KING attended the Mason City high school. He had been in the navy for 6 years.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond KING of 105 Fifteenth street northwest, and his wife, of California. Two sisters and one brother also survive. Mrs. Dean FRANK and Mrs. Ed SADLER are the sisters and Raymond KING is the brother, now serving with the armed forces in north Africa.
