Verona N. Winchell, 82, died June 20, 1967, in a Mason City hospital. She had lived in the community 57 years and made her home at 212 12th SE.

Mrs. Winchell was born April 7, 1885, in Charles City, daughter of Alpheus and Rosemond R. (Armstrong) Reed. She was married to George R. Winchell, August 26, 1910, at Crystal Lake.

Mrs. Winchell was a member of the Grace Evangelical United Brethren Church, the Royal Neighbors of America and the Daughters of Union Veterans Women's Relief Corps.

Surviving are a son, George R. Winchell, San Diego, CA; three daughters, Gladys (Cyrus) Renshaw, Gertrude (Ralph) Peterson, and Verna (Curtis) Vrchota, all of Mason City; 12 grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Alpha Perkins, San Antonio, TX.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1943, by a daughter, Dorothy, in 1941, by a son in infancy and by two brothers and a sister.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
Burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery, Mason City.
