MASON CITY- Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Garner, for Frank (Bud) Tienan, 74, of 1830 4th SW, who died Friday (May 1, 1981) at a Mason City hospital.

Officating at the service will be the Rev. Reynold Petersen. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will begin 2 p.m. Sunday at Ward- Van Slkye Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake.

The family requests that memorials be given to the Frank A. (Bud) Tienan Memorial Fund.

Mr. Tienan graduated from Titonka High School and Hamilton Business College. He was in the farming and cattle business north-west of Ventura for 40 years. He retired and moved to Mason City in 1968 when he went into the real estate business. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.

Mr. Tienan was an avid sportsman, interested in fishing and hunting. He also played in a semi-professional baseball league and was a professional boxer.

Survivors include his wife, Bertha(O'Connor), one daughter, Mrs. William (Phyllis) Postma, Novato, Calif.; two sons, Frank Jr., St. Paul,a former state editor at the Globe-Gazette, and Douglas, Appoka, Fla.; four step-sons, Leo O'Connor, Dougherty; the Rev. John O'Connor, Dubuque; Donald O'Connor, Mason City and Edward O'Connor, Osage; 20 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Betty Nelson, Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Minnie Samuelson, Arvada, Colo., and one brother, Paul, of Burt.
