PLYMOUTH WILL GREET SEAMAN

Community to Be Host to Dwayne HEDEGARD
PLYMOUTH - The Plymouth community, continuing its custom of honoring the men and women who are offering their lives to their country, will give a reception to Dwayne HEDEGARD, seaman first class, at the high school gymnasium Friday at 8 p.m.

Seaman HEDEGARD has been 2 years in overseas service and participated in 10 major naval engagements. This is the first time he has been home since he enlisted.

An entertainment committee is at work on a program. Light refreshments will be served.

Seaman HEDEGARD is a son of Victor HEDEGARD who is employed as a section man by the Milwaukee railroad.

D. Hedegard, Navy veteran, dies at Knoxville

PLYMUTH - Dwayne V. HEDEGARD, 35, died Friday at the Veterans Hospital, Knoxville. Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Plymouth Methodist Church. The Rev. Charles BIRCHMIER will officiate. Burial will be in Plymouth [Oakwood] Cemetery with Bride's Funeral Home, Manly, in charge.

Born Sept. 22, 1925, at Dexter, Minn., he was the son of Victor and Marjorie HEDEGARD. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy, July 6, 1931, and served until his health failed in 1951. He has been a patient at the Vets Hospital the last nine years.

Surviving are his parents, two sisters, Mrs. Albert (Constance) WEHNER, Springfield, Ore.; Mrs. Robert (Harriet) PETERSON, Austin, Minn.; three brothers, Howard, Bremerhaven, Germany; Lester, Albert Lea, and Victor Jr., Falls Church, Va.
