Mrs. E. Claus Dies at Home

Services to Be at 2:30 on Wednesday

Mrs. E. E. (Sarah Jane) CLAUS, 86, died at her home, 121 First S.E., Monday morning following a short illness. She had been a resident of Mason City for about 62 years.

Mrs. CLAUS was born Aug. 10, 1864, at Fort Hope, Canada, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. K. JOHNSON. At the age of 3 she moved with her parents to Iowa from Canada and they moved to Mason City in1889 and had made her home here since that time.

On Oct. 30, 1893, she was married to Ernest E. CLAUS. They celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary last October. Mrs. CLAUS was a member of the First Congregational church and worked for many years in the Energetic class. She also was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Surviving Mrs. CLAUS are her husband, two daughters, Mrs. W. E. (Ernestine) BROWN and Mrs. W. V. (Lenore) LORING, Mason City, and a sister, Mrs. Fred TIMS, Mason City. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters and 3 brothers.

Funeral services will be held at the Major Memorial chapel at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Peter JANSEN, pastor of the 1st Congregational church, officiating. Eastern Star services will be held at the chapel. Inerment will be at the Plymouth [Oakwood] cemetery. The Major funeral home in charge.

Mrs. E. Claus Services Held

Rites Conducted at Local Funeral Home
Funeral services for Mrs. E. E. (Sarah) CLAUS, 86, who died Monday following a short illness, were held at the Major Memorial chapel Wednesday, with the Rev. Peter JANSEN, pastor of the First Congregational church, officiating.

Mrs. Roy SERVISON played obsequial music on the organ.

Mrs. Seymour ANGEL and Mrs. G. D. WEIDA were in charge of flowers.

Eastern Star services were held at the chapel, with Mrs. Earl GERARD, worthy matron of Unity chapter, in charge.

Members of the Eastern Sar attended the services in a group.

Pallbearers were Eldon and Cecil BOYER, Harold TIMS, Max and Kenneth HEDRICK and Paul V. JOHNSON. Interment was at the Plymouth [Oakwood] cemetery. The Major funeral home in charge.
