HOLD RITES FOR YOUNG FARMER

CLEAR LAKE - Funeral services for Harold Maynard NELSON, 27, were held at the Bethelhem Lutheran church Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock with the Rev. S. M. STENBY, pastor, conducting the rites. Burial was in Clear Lake cemetery.

Mrs. T. H. STALL, accompanied at the organ by her daughter, Miss Normal STALL, sang "Someday He'll Make It Plain" and "Abide With Me." Mrs. N. P. JACOBSON and Mrs. Val WALLIS arranged the flowers.

Pallbearers were Elmer PERSON, Roy BADKER, Morris MILES, Harry NUNZENMALER, Dale VanHOUSTON and Bert MORSE.

Thrown From Rake

Mr. NELSON, who was the son of Mr. and Mrs. R. E. NELSON, died Thursday morning following an accident on the farm where he lived near Grand Junction. He was raking cornstalks in the field when the tongue of the rake came down and he was thrown from his eat, striking his head upon the machinery and causing a fracture of the skull. Mrs. NELSON, who was helping to burn the stalks, came to his assistance but could not lift him into the automobile so called help. He did not regain consciousness and died soon after reaching a hospital.

Mr. NELSON was born July 14, 1911, in Clear Lake and attended the grande schools for a time, then rural schools southwest of town after the family moved to a farm in that vicinity. He was graduated from Clear Lake high school in 1929.

Married in 1936

He was married to Miss Hazel HEATER of Grand Junction Jan. 11, 1936, and the couple lived near Clear Lake for two years before going to Grand Junction to operate the B. E. HEATER farm.

Besides his widow and parents, Mr. NELSON is survived by five brothers, Elmer R., Guthrie Center; Edward CAMROE, Alberta, Canada; and Ernst, Ralph and Howard at home; and three sisters, Mrs. Marie POPPECK, Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Effie TREES, Clear Lake; and Barbara C., at home.

Friends Attend Services

Mr. NELSON was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Clear Lake in young manhood. Funeral services were held at the home near Grand Junction Sunday morning at 10 o'clock with the Rev. R. J. ARMS, pastor of the Rippey Methodist church, in charge. Following the rites the funeral party drove to Clear Lake, accompnied by eight auto loads of friends.

Mrs. POPPECK was present for the services but the brother, Edward, was unable to reach Clear lake from Canada in time. A Grand Junction funeral home made the arrangements.
