Mrs. Richard Burgraff, 71, dies at home

Mrs. Richard (Jessie Louise) BURGRAFF, 71, died Tuesday evening at her home, 159 14th NW. She had lived in Mason City since she was two years of age.

Mrs. BURGRAFF was born June 25, 1891, at Garnavillo, daughter of William and Magdalene (MEYERS) ALITZ. She was married to Richard BURGRAFF Aug. 16, 1916, in Mason City.

She was a member of Grace Evangelical United Brethren Church, in which she was very active, and was a former member of the WCTU.

Surviving are her husband, four sons, Robert, Lansing, Mich.; Richard, Sacramento, Calif.; Thomas, Des Moines, and Ellsworth, Mason City; two brothers, W. A. ALITZ, Manly, and Henry ALITZ, Plymouth; a sister, Cora TIETJENS, Mason City, and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister in infancy.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the McAuley-Scanlan-McKasson Chapel. The Rev. Marvin HULSE, pastor of Grace Evangelical United Brethren Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Plymouth [Oakwood] Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the chapel from 1 p.m. Thursday until the time of services. The family prefers that memorials be given to the Evengelical United Brethren Church building fund.
