Charles C. CAPONI, 72, of 121 Seventh St. N.E., died Monday (Nov. 27, 1995) at the Americana Healthcare Center.

Memorial services will be held 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, 1995, at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, 815 N. Kentucky Ave., with Pastor Mark LUCKIESH and Charles C. CAPONI III officiating.

There is no visitation. The body was cremated.

Memorials may be given to the Charles C. CAPONI Memorial Fund.

Charles was born Oct. 13, 1923, in Mason City, son of Charles C. and Lucille (LAW) CAPONI.

He attended Mason City Schools and served in the United States Army during World War II. After his return from the service, he attended Barber College in Sioux City. He returned to Mason City and started his career as a barber.

He was married to Wanda JENISON on Jan. 22, 1950, in Albert Lea, Minn.

He continued his career as a barber in Mason City, completing 40 years, which the last few years before he retired were spent running the Regal Barber Shop, retiring in 1985 due to failing eye sight.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and also collected Civil War memorabilia. He was a member of DAV.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda CAPONI of Mason City; one daughter, Stephanie BOHL of Mason City; one son, Charles C. CAPONI and his wife, Kimberly, of Mason City; grandchildren, Jason DESPENAS of Mason City and Mollie BOHL of Mason City.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
