Ruth C. STORK was born on August 10, 1925 in Mason City, the daughter of Edward and Jennie (KISNER) STORK. She attended and graduated high school from Holy Family Catholic High School in Mason City.

In 1944 Ruth was united in marriage to Leonard BALEK and to this union four children were born.

Much of Ruth's adult life was spent nurturing and tending to her husband and children. She was always known as a woman with an unending love towards her family, a love that continued to grow as she would welcome grandchildren and great-grandchildren into the family throughout the years. She especially enjoyed spending time with her great-grandson, Tyler.

Ruth held many hobbies but perhaps some of her favorites were fishing with Leonard, gardening, cooking and sewing. In later years Ruth also developed a love of painting and truly proved to be a talented artist!

As a long-time member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Ruth was a former member of numerous circles, having held the offices of President and Treasurer many times.

Blessed with having a rich and full life, Ruth will be greatly and sadly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

Ruth is survived by her children, Michael (Judi) BALEK, Sacramento, CA, Pat (Marsha) BALEK, Mason City, Becky (Lloyd) KNUTSON, Albert Lea, Minn., and Jenny Ann (Robert) SPEAKER, Mason City; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister, Sister Priscilla STORK, Dubuque; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Those preceding Ruth in death are her parents; husband, Leonard; and siblings, Jim STORK, Frank STORK, Genevieve KATZ, and Margaret PERKEY.
