JOHN M'GEE DIES AFTER ILLNESS

Funeral Services to Be Held at Holy Family Church Thursday Morning.

John McGEE, 84, died at a local hospital about 4:30 o'clock Monday afternoon, following an illness. He had been a resident of Mason city for the past eight years when he moved here upon his retirement from farming near Rockwell.

Mr. McGEE was born Aug. 15, 1851, at Mennmore, Ireland. He was married to Grace BOYLE, Feb. 2, 1885, in Ireland, and they came to America March 17, 1885. They settled near Rockwell, where Mr. McGEE was engaged in farming until he moved to Mason City.

Surviving Mr. McGEE are his wife and five daughters and three sons, Mrs. Will NUGENT and Anthony McGEE, Decatur, Ill., Mrs. F. A. PARKINSON, Austin, Minn., Mrs. W. R. SWANSON, Mrs. W. T. CROSS, Alice McGEE and Phill and Jim McGEE, all of Mason City. Nineteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive. Mr. McGEE was preceded in death by one daughter, Bridget, in infancy and one adopted son, Morris.

Funeral services will be held at the Holy Family Catholic church Thursday morning at 9 o'clock, with the Rev. R. P. MURPHY in charge. Burial will be at St. Patrick's Catholic cemetery at Doughtery. The body was taken from the Randall funeral home to the residence, 817 Adams avenue northwest, where the rosary will be said Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at 8 o'clock.
