Claus B. Clausen, 82, of 1417 N. Adams, Mason City, died Sunday, December 12, 1993, at the Muse Norris Inpatient Unit of Hospice of North Iowa.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at St. James Lutheran Church, Mason City, with the Rev. David Anderson officiating. Burial was in the Grafton Cemetery, Grafton.
Mr. Clausen was born October 10, 1911, in Germany. to Bendix and Marie (Sonkson) Clausen. He attended school in Manly. In 1929, he moved to Mason City from Osage, where he had lived for three years. He was employed by Deckers as a mechanic.
On August 6, 1977, he married Alda Ahrens Krahn. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed mechanic work, fishing and helping people.
Mr. Clausen is survived by his wife, Alda, Mason City; four children, son, Delmer (Violet) Clausen, St. Ansgar; and daughters, Janice Atkinson, Mason City, Donna Lawson, Kansas City, KS, and Margie (Robert) Nasheim, Glendive, MT; four step-children, Dick (Rosella) Krahn, Osage, Gene (Katrina) Krahn, Osage, Ronald (Suzanne) Krahn, Mason City, and Myrna (Howard) Hosington, Orchard; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Clausen was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and his first wife, Linda Clausen, in 1976.
