MASON CITY — Robert K. WEBER, 59, of 716 15th St. N.E., Mason City, Iowa, died Sunday (Dec. 14, 2008) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, Mason City.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 302 Fifth St. S.E., Mason City, with the Rev. Craig E. STEIMEL, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E. Mason City, with a scriptural wake service at 6:30 p.m.

Bob's family suggests memorials be given to the Robert K. WEBER Memorial Fund.

Robert was born on Sept. 28, 1949, in Charles City, Iowa, the son of Kenneth and Mary Eileen (McGEE) WEBER. He grew up in the Dougherty area where he attended St. Patrick's School, and graduated from Sheffield Chapin High School in 1967. He was very active in sports and was a standout player in football, basketball and track. He attended North Iowa Area Community College.

Robert married Jeanne BRAYTON of Sheffield in 1968. They raised their four children in Mason City. Robert was a loving father and active in their lives.

He began his working career at Decker's Sports in Mason City and later worked at Cargill Kitchen Solutions (Sunny Fresh), until he retired due to health.

Robert never knew a stranger. He loved sports of all kinds and played softball for Butt'r-Topp Bakery and was on many state and national championships teams. Robert loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mason City.

Robert is survived by his mother, Mary Eileen WEBER, of Dougherty; four children: Robert P. WEBER and his wife, Sara, of Austin, Minn., Joseph M. WEBER, North Liberty, Iowa and his special friend, Leigh JENSEN, Matthew J. WEBER and his wife, Cindy, of Mason City, and Kathryn A. WEBER and her special friend, Nathaniel WETTER, of Mason City; his special friend, Robin AMES, of Mason City; eight grandchildren: Brenden WEBER, Cole PRESCOTT, Abby PRESCOTT, Cory WEBER, Amanda WEBER, Makayla WEBER, Hannah WEBER and Haden WEBER; a brother, Ron WEBER and his wife, JoAnn, of Kansas City, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; sister-in-law, Liz WEBER; and his grandparents.
