Wednesday, August 25, 2004ROCKWELL — Janice L. WARD, 63, of 707 Elm St., Rockwell and formerly of Mason City, died early Monday morning (Aug. 23, 2004) at the Rockwell Community Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Swaledale United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bruce E. WITTERN officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, rural Swaledale.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church.
Those wishing to extend memorials or expressions of sympathy may direct them to the Swaledale United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at the Swaledale United Methodist Church, 402 Main St., Swaledale, with the Rev. Bruce E. WITTERN officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, rural Swaledale. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.

Janice Lea WARD was born March 7, 1941, in Swaledale to Virgil and Ruby (DYER) WARD. She was the youngest of two children born to her parents.
Janice attended school exclusively in Swaledale and graduated from Swaledale High School in 1959.
Janice was employed for many years at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in the housekeeping department and had lived in Cerro Gordo County all her life.
Due to ill health, Janice was disabled and living at the Rockwell Community Nursing Home for the past few years.
Some of Janice's favorite leisure activities and interests included playing bingo and listening to music.
She held a special compassion for animals, especially her pet cat.
Janice treasured leisure time spent with her brother, Gerald. They enjoyed each other's company and looked forward to visiting and going out to dinner.
She cherished the simple joys in life.
Janice is survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Preceding Janice in death are her parents, Virgil and Ruby WARD; her grandparents; and her brother, Gerald WARD on July 15, 2004.
