Wednesday, August 25, 2004MASON CITY — David H. THOMAS, 81, of Rantoul, Ill., and formerly of Mason City, died Monday (Aug. 23, 2004) at the Provena Covenant Medical Center, of Urbana, Ill.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave. with the Rev. Jim Stiles, of First United Methodist Church officiating. The service will conclude with Masonic Rites conducted by Benevolence Lodge. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be directed to the Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children or donor's choice.
David Henry THOMAS was born Feb. 25, 1923, in Mason City the son of Charles and Christina (STADLER) THOMAS.
He was united in marriage to Virginia HOHENFIELD on April 15, 1943, in Sebring, Fla.
David served in the United States Air Force for 20 years during World War II and the Korean Conflict.
He was an active member of Benevolence Lodge No. 145 A.F. & A.M. and was a member of the Eastern Star. He was also a member of the VFW of Rantoul, Ill.
David is survived by his wife, Virginia of Rantoul, Ill.
He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and two sisters.
