Louis N. Merfeld
DOUGHERTY- A Mass of Celebration for Louis N.Merfeld 67, Dougherty plumber, will be at 11: a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Church. The Rev. L. H.Reicks will be the main celebrant. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery.

Pallbearers selected are nephews, Joseph and Alfonse Wihlm, Steve McLaughlin, John Merfeld, Donald and Ed O'Connor. Ushers at the church will be Kenneth Weber and Raymond Campbell.

The parish rosary wil be recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel. A parish rosary will also be recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick's School Chapel.

Visitation is scheduled at the Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel until 2 p.m. Wednesday and at St. Patrick;s School Chapel after 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Mr. Merfeld died Monday at a Mason City hospital.
He was born Sept. 25, 1901 at Ionia, Minn., the son of John and Mary (Noss) Merfeld. He attended the rural schools of Floyd County and lived in Floyd and Cerro Gordo Counties most of his life. He was a veteran of World War II and served four years with the Seabees.

He was preceded in death by two sisters. (Gertrude Merfeld Backer& Leona Merfeld Radford).

Surviving are five brothers, Al Merfeld, Dougherty; the Rev. Arthur Merfeld, Glen Ellyn, Ill.; Leo Merfeld, Sacramento, Calif.; John Merfeld, Rockford, the Rev. Vincent Merfeld with the U.S. Air Force at Montgomery, Ala.; and three sisters, Mrs. Clara Wihlm, Dougherty, Mrs. Bertha Tienan, Mason City and Miss Frances Merfeld, Marble Rock. There are several nieces and nephews.
