Mary E. Lewis

Mason City- Mrs. Frank (Mary E.) Lewis, 81 of 4117 19th St. S.W. died Sunday (Nov. 18, 1990) at home.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 302 Fifth St. S.E. with the Rev. Daniel Keppler officiating. Burial will be in ELmwood St. Joseph's Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation is after 2 p.m. today at Patterson James Funeral Chapel, 123 Second St. S.E. with a wake service at 7:30 at the funeral chapel.

Mrs. Lewis was born Nov. 17, 1909, in Dougherty, a daughter of Terrence and Bridget (Treston) Barragy. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Rockwell, and from Clarke College with a teaching certificate. She then taught school near Rockwell.

She married Frank Lewis on May 28, 1935, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rockwell. They moved to Mason City from Rockwell in 1939.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church,
Mason City, St. Theresa's Circle; and Parish Life. She was a former member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She also did volunteer work at Good Shepherd Nursing Home.

She is survived by her husband, Frank, Mason City, one daughter, Mrs. Betty Vader, Minneapolis, Minn., one son, Terrence and his wife Lynette Lewis, Mason City; and five grandchildren, Shari Lewis, Mason City; Jill Lewis, Latimer; Randy Lewis, Mason City; Mary Ellen Vader, Minneapolis, Minn., and Steven Vader, Bremerton, Wash.

She was preceded in death by one son James; her parents; and three brothers, John, Ed, and James Barragy.
