Obituary - Katherine (Kavars) Kiroff
MASON CITY IA - Katherine (KAVARS) KIROFF, 82, of 1009 6th Street S.W., died Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa, Mason City.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. (Saturday July 16th, 2011), at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd Street N.E. Mason City with Reverend Joseph MIROWSKI officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.
A viewing will be held Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., where a Trisagion service will be held at 6:00 p.m. at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd Street N.E. Mason City.
Should friends desire, memorials may be directed to the Katherine KIROFF Memorial.
Katherine KAVARS was born January 18, 1929, in Mason City, the daughter of Nick and Bertha (DeGRAFF) KAVARS. She graduated from Mason City High School. After high school she worked various jobs. Katherine was united in marriage to Stephen KIROFF; to this union three children were born. She worked several years for Armour-Decker Meat Packing Plant.
Katherine enjoyed playing cards, Bingo, Pinochle, and tending to her flower garden. Her greatest love was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary.
Katherine is survived by her children Mark (Penny SANDVIG) KIROFF, Clear Lake, Sheldon KIROFF and Debera (REINHOLD) SPECKMEIER, all of Mason City; grandchildren Jacob and Cody KIROFF, Reinhold SPECKMEIER, Zakariah, Allison and Matthew KIROFF; four Great-Grandchildren; sister-in-law Marlene KAVARS, Mason City; along with numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Katherine is preceded in death by her parents Nick and Bertha KAVARS, husband Stephen KIROFF and siblings Delma, George, John, Steve, James, and Gus KAVARS.
