John J. Behm, 69, of 643 10th NE, died at a local hospital Thursday, July 28, 1949 in the evening following a short illness. He had resided in Mason City for 6 years, but previous to this had farmed north of Mason City for 45 years.

Mr. Behm was born in Worth County July 11, 1880. He was married to Anna Fitzl, of Manly, on February 2, 1904. Surviving are his wife, a son, Lawrence J. Behm, and 4 daughters, Mrs. William Pinneke, Mrs. Joe Fiala, Mrs. Ralph Gratias, and Mrs. Lloyd Bergan, all of Mason City, and 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister, and 3 grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body will lie in state at the Colonial Funeral Home.
