Funeral services were held on January 20 for Edwin John Erickson, of Clear Lake, Iowa who died January 14, 1990 at the Oakwood Care Center in Clear Lake, Iowa from complications of Alzheimers disease. Rev. Dean Hess of Zion Lutheran Church conducted the services. Edwin was a member of this church. Burial was in the Clear Lake Cemetery.

Edwin John Erickson, son of Otto and Ellen (Melhus) Erickson was born May 26, 1923 in Dubuque, Iowa. The family moved to Decorah, Iowa where he graduated from high school. After graduation he managed a Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He married Betty Harvey on August 7, 1943 at Minneapolis. They had four children. Shortly after their marriage they moved to West Union, Iowa where he drove for Alstadt and Langlas Baking Company for 17 years. In 1960 they moved to Clear Lake, Iowa where he managed H&H Distributing Company for a few years. He began working for the Clear Lake Bakery before retiring in 1981 due to poor health.

Surviving are his wife, Betty of Clear Lake; 2 daughters, Barbara J. Hefty of Dunwoody, Georgia, and Marsha E. Bezely of Clear Lake, Iowa; and 2 sons, David E. Erickson of Roseville, Minnesota and Steven C. Erickson of Ovilla, Texas; and 10 grandchildren.
