Ardith A. MEYER, 79, 211 E. Lake St., Ventura, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007 at the Good Shepherd Health Center, Mason City, Iowa. A memorial service was held Monday, Dec. 10, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Garner, Iowa with Rev. Carl HEDBERG officiating. Inurnment was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City. Memorials may be given to Good Shepherd Health Center or Hospice of North Iowa in Memory of Ardith A. MEYER.

Ardith was born Jan. 2, 1928 in Mason City, the daughter of Leon and Frances (BROKAW) PROBERT. She graduated from Mason City High School in 1946 and attended Mason City Junior College. She was assistant telephone operator for Northwestern Bell in Mason City. Ardith married Lambert MEYER on July 7, 1952 in Mason City. She worked at the phone company until she quit to raise a family. They lived on a farm south of Ventura where they raised turkeys. After her family was raised she went to work for Unisys and later Rockwell Collins, until she retired. They moved to their present residence in 1966.

She loved reading, crossword puzzles, traveling and taking her grandchildren shopping. Ardith was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of rural Garner.

Ardith is survived by her husband, Lambert MEYER, Ventura; one son, Stanley MEYER and his wife Elaine, Clear Lake, IA; three grandchildren Abby MEYER and her special friend Tony BAUMAN, Clear Lake, Seth Meyer, Cherokee, IA and Anna MEYER, Iowa City, IA; brother Leon PROBERT, Mason City, IA; sisters-in-law Jean PROBERT, Seville, OH, Elaine LAUTERBACK and her husband Richard, Iowa Falls, IA, Dorothy MEYER, Miami, FL and Joann MEYER, Milwaukee, WI; brothers-in-law Arthur MEYER and his wife Pat, Clear Lake, IA, Glen MEYER and his wife Roberta, Iowa Falls, IA and Harold MEYER and his wife Bonnie, Waterloo, IA.

Ardith was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Paul PROBERT, daughter Linda MEYER and brothers-in-law Victor and Raymond MEYER.
