MASON CITY — Steven C. AUSTIN, 59, of Mason City, died Saturday, April 30, 2011, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.

Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 4, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with the Rev. Jim STILES officiating. Inurnment will be held in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.

A gathering of friends and family will be held from 5-7 p.m. today, Tuesday, May 3, and hour our prior to the service on Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Per Steve's request, he will be cremated. Memorials may be directed to the Steven AUSTIN Memorial Fund. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.majorericksonfuneralhome.com .

Steve was born on Sept. 11, 1951, in Mason City, the son of Clifford and Mildred (DEETS) AUSTIN. He was born and raised in Mason City and graduated from Mason City High School in 1969.

He worked for Woodharbor Doors & Cabinetry for nearly 15 years. He married Judy RAPP on May 21, 1976, in Clear Lake, and to this union came three children. Steve enjoyed spending time with his family, woodworking in his shop, making gifts for people or craft shows, going to NHRA drag races, the Green Bay Packers, and taking his dog, Tarzan, on walks. He will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew him.

Steve is survived by his wife of 34 years, Judy AUSTIN, of Mason City; two sons, Jesse (Tracy) AUSTIN of Gilbert, Ariz., Ian (Kathy) AUSTIN of Mesa, Ariz.; daughter, Samaria AUSTIN of Mason City; grandson, Tyler; three granddaughters, Kory, Jessica, and Brittany; great-granddaughter, Jordan; siblings, Vicki (Rande) LEKWA of Marble Rock, Mark (Luanne) AUSTIN of Mason City, Sue (Michael) SCHULTZ of St. Louis, Mo.; special niece, Jodie, and her daughters, Emalea and Briana; many nieces and nephews, friends and family, as well as his two pets, Tarzan and Zoe.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
