CLEAR LAKE -- Alice DORAN VanLOAN, 82, of Webb City, Mn., formerly of Clear Lake, died Wednesday (March 24, 1993) at St. John's Hospital in Joplin, Mo., after a short illness.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Clear Lake Cemetery with Rev. Joseph J. SLEPICKA of St. Patrick's Catholic Church officiating.

Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., Clear Lake. There will be a public Rosary at 6 p.m. tonight at the chapel and further visitation after 9 a.m. Monday at the chapel.

Alice DORAN VanLOAN was born March 3, 1911, in Nora Springs [the daughter of James Patrick and Francis Minerva "Fanny" (BROWN) DORAN]. She attended and graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School in Mason City in 1929. After her graduation from high school she attended and graduated from Cosmetology School in Austin, Minn.

She married Paul VanLOAN on Sept 24, 1930 in Minnesota. He preceded her in death on June 21, 1968. She owned and operated the Pastel Beauty Salon in Clear Lake for 37 years until her retirement in December of 1992. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Clear Lake.

Survivors include two sons, Gerald and his wife Jackie VanLOAN of Webb City, Min., and James and his wife Rose VanLOAN of Kalispell, Mont.; one sister, Iva McDONOUGH of Mason City; six grandchildren as well as other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and two brothers.
