Virginia Mae "Gina" BAKER, 72, of 6700 S.E. Fifth St. [Des Moines] died of complications of a stroke Saturday [August 2, 1997] at Kavanagh House on Grand in West Des Moines. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Simpson United Methodist Church, of which she was a member. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. BAKER, a homemaker was born in Mason City [October 10, 1924, daughter of George W. and Elsie Merle (POTTER) JOHNSON] and lived in the Des Moines Area 50 years.
She is survived by her husband, Claude; two sons, Dwight of Des Moines and Jeffrey of Waco, Texas; a step-son, Charles BAKER of Phoenix, Ariz; three sisters, Patricia GUSLAND of Des Moines, Beverly FLACONE of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Leota HICKS of Tucson, Ariz.; and three grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa or her church. Arrangements are being handled by Hamilton's Funeral Home.
