March, 1981MASON CITY -- Harley Homer Haxton, formerly of Clear Lake and Mason City, died Monday (March 9, 1981) at his home in Arizona City, Ariz.
Funeral services will be held in Arizona. The body will be cremated.
Mr. HAXTON was a retired employee of Northwestern States Portland Cement Co., Mason City, having worked there 43 years. He and his wife celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary March 2.
Survivors include his wife Thelma LUSE HAXTON; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Barbara) BRANT, Arizona City, Ariz.; two sons, John HAXTON, Arizona City, Ariz., and Jerry HAXTON, Lakewood, Colo; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and one brother, Don HAXTON, Mason City.

ARIZONA CITY -- Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the First Christian Church, Casa Grande [Arizona], for Harley Homer HAXTON, Roadrunner Trailer Park, who died Monday [March 9, 1981] at his home. Grant LAYMAN, minister, will officiate.
Mr. HAXTON was born Aug. 30, 1910 in Leland, Iowa. He was retired after 42 years working for the Northwestern State Portland Cement Co. He moved here from Iowa in 1974.
He and his wife, Thelma who survives him, were married March 2, 1931, in Albert Lea, Minn. They were honored last week at a golden anniversary party hosted by their children.
He was a member of the Casa Grande Valley Moose Lodge No. 1038, Arizona City and a life member of the Musicians' Union in Mason City, Iowa.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughert, Mrs. Barbara BRANDT, Arizona City; his sons, John of Glendale, Jerry of Lakewood Colo.; his brother, Donovan HAXTON, Mason City, Iowa; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family prefers memorial donations to the Christian Church.
Private cremation was held. Cole and Maud Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
