ALICE BARTELL, 63, SUCCUMBS
Funeral Rites to Be Wednesday Morning

Mrs. Alice Bartell, 63, died at a local hospital Saturday at [August 2, 1947] 6:30 p.m., following an illness of about 15 years. She had been at the hospital for the past 5 1/2 months.

She was born March 15, 1884, near Waverly, the daughter of Ellen and Francis X. FOSTER. At the age of 19 she married to Oscar D. BARTELL July 5, 1902, at Waverly. A year later she moved to Mason City and had resided here for the past 43 years.

Surviving are her husband, a brother, Raymond FOSTER, Waterloo, and 6 children, Robert, Delos, Gail and Lyle BARTELL and Mrs. Virginia MAYO and Mrs. Beulah EADER, and 13 grandchildren, all of Mason City. One son, Arlie, preceded her in death 11 years age.

Funeral services will be held at the Patterson funeral home Wednesday morning with the Rev. Clair HICKS officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park cemetery. The Patterson funeral home in charge.

MRS. BARTELL SERVICES HELD
Rites Conducted at Local Funeral Chapel

Fundral services for Mrs. Alice BARTELL, 63, who died at a local hospital Saturday [August 2, 1947], after along illness, were held at the Patterson funeral home Wednesday, with the Rev. C. W. HICKS officiating.

Mrs. Harold WOLFE sang "Rock of Ages," "Safe in the Arms of Jesus," and "Goodnight and Goodmorning." Mrs. Earl EHLERS accompanied at the organ.

Mrs. Weston COTTRELL and Mrs. H. T. ROBERTS were in charge of flowers.

Attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Virgil FOSTER and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Clayton FOSTER, Vern FOSTER, Mrs. Ralph DILLINBERG, Mr. and Mrs. Frankie FOSTER, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond FOSTER, and daughter, Eva, Carl SOMMERFELT, Ray HANNERS and Dale HANNERS, all of Waterloo, and Mr. and Mrs. John BOLTON, Shell Rock.

Pallbearers were Edward FESSENDEN, William PENNOCKE, C. L. KITTLESON, U. B. HOWE and Glen HARMON. Burial was at Memorial Park cemetery. The Patterson funeral home in charge.
