William H. Board, 83 dies at home after long Illness.

Funeral Arrangements for retired farmer are not complete.

William H. BOARD, 83 retired farmer and resident of Mason City for the past 40 years, died at his home, 1417 Virginia avenue northeast at 1:50 o'clock Thursday morning, following an illness of about three months.

Mr. BOARD was born Oct. 1, 1859, at Farmington, Washington county, Wis. Following his marriage on Aug. 28, 1889 in West Bend, Wis., he settled with his wife on a farm two miles south of Hanford. Later they sold this farm and purchased one five miles north of Mason City.

In 1903 they purchased 16 acres northeast of Mason City, on which they built their home. In 1916 they sold their property, with the exception of their home, to the Grand View Development company, which platted the area.

Mr. BOARD was a member of the I.O.O.F. lodge and the First Christian church.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. William H. BOARD, Mason City, and two sons, Charles H. BOARD Minneapolis, and William G. BOARD, Adams, Wis., and two daughters, Mrs. F. M. McKEE. Mason City, and Mrs. Ned TAYLOR, Calmar.

A brother, Charles R. BOARD Sheboygan, Wis., and three sisters, Mrs. Julius YAHR, Fredonia, Wis., Mrs. Joe PIPER Saginaw, Wis., and Mrs. Ernest GERLOCK, Kolesville, Wis., and 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mrs. Berl Van HORN, and one grandson, Virgil Van HORN.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body will lie in state at the McAuley and Son funeral home.

WILLIAM BOARD SERVICES HELD
Rites Conducted at Local Funeral Chapel

Funeral services for William H. BOARD, 83, who died Thursday at his home, 1417 Virginia avenue northeast, following an illness of about three months, were held at the chapel of the McAuley and Son funeral home Monday afternoon.

The Rev. George O. MARSH, pastor of the First Christian church, officiated.

Mrs. Harold SNYDER sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In the Sweet Bye and Bye". Mrs. Ray CATES accompanied at the organ and played obsequial music, including "Beautiful Isle of Some-Where," "Garden of Prayer" and "When They Ring the Golden Bells for You and Me."

Mrs. J. A. GASHEL and Mrs. Oliver ONG were in charge of flowers.

Attending the services from out of the city were Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. BOARD and family, Minneapolis, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. William G. BOARD and family, Adams, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Ned TAYLOR, Calmer; and Mrs. George FOX, Minneapolis, Minn.

Members of the I.O.O.F. lodge attended the services in a body.

Pall bearers were Lloyd FIELD, Joe A. GASHEL, G. G. WEIDA, Clyde CHAMBERS, M. W. ALBORN and Oliver W. ONG. Burial was at Memorial Park cemetery. The McAuley and Son funeral home in charge.
