Obituary - Valeria Catherine (Scholl) Logan
ROCKWELL, IA — Valeria Catherine LOGAN, 88, of 122 E. Main St., died Saturday [Nov. 29, 2003] at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Dougherty.
Valeria was born Sept. 23, 1915, in Rockwell, a daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (KIPPER) SCHOLL. She grew up in the Rockwell/Dougherty area and attended Rockwell Sacred Heart Academy. Valeria was united in marriage to Walter R. LOGAN on July 2, 1940, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rockwell. They farmed near Rockwell for 44 years and wintered in Weslaco, TX.
Valeria is survived by five children and their spouses: Tom and Liz LOGAN of Atlanta, Ga., Mary and John LOVETINSKY of Iowa City, Larry LOGAN of Mason City, Ann and Kevin OPITZ of Eden Prairie, Minn., and Terri and Jim GRANT of Rockwell; 16 grandchildren (with one on the way); 30 great-grandchildren; one sister, Virginia MILLARD and her husband, Ray, of Manly; one sister-in-law, Ruth SCHOLL, of Mason City, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Richard LOGAN; one great-grandson; one brother; and four sisters.
