Obituary - Helen L. (Poling) Badker

Helen L. BADKER, 92, of Vesper, Wis., died Saturday at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home in Port Edwards.

She was born in Crosby, N.D., on April 2, 1911, the daughter to Clifford and Bess (CAFFREY) POLING. She was educated in Crosby.

She married Henry M. BADKER on July 25, 1931, in Garner, Iowa. Helen was a homemaker and a foster parent to 30 children. They resided in Osseo from 1949 until 1970, later moving to Vesper.

Survivors include her children, Merlin Blair BADKER of Sandwich, Ill., Paul (Maxine) BADKER of Vesper, and Karoyl COOPER of Fontana; daughter-in-law, Beverly BADKER of Manitowoc; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, on February 15, 1998; son, Calvin, in 1994; five brothers and sisters.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Buchanan Funeral Home in Pittsville with Pastors Bruce NAUGLE and Gary BOWELL officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Burchinal, Iowa.

Friends may call one hour before services at the funeral home.
