Bertha Christina Clausen was born May 27, 1861, in Ostofe, Tolland, Denmark. She came to this country in May 1881. She was married to Chris Nielsen on July 11, 1885, at Princeton, Ill. They had four children who along with the husband survive her. They are: Mrs. Marie Jacobsen of Clear Lake; R.C. Nielsen of Zimmerman, Minn., Mrs. Dorothy Nielsen of Davenport, Iowa, Mrs. Matilda Iliff of Zimmerman, Minn. Three brothers also survive, George Clausen of Denmark, J. C. Clausen of Sheffield, Ill., Gred Clausen of Clear Lake, Iowa. Interment at Clear Lake.
