OLSON, CAPT Robert Franklin of Britt, born 07 Jan 1936

born 07 Jan 1936 Died of non-hostile action 07 Aug 1969, Vin Long, S. Vietnam

Capt. OLSON was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1958 and served in the 4th Armoured Division in Germany. He attained the rank of E5 within his first few months in the Army. Capt. OLSON was discharged in 1959, but he re-enlisted after a year of civilian life. After his first tour of duty in Vietnam, Capt. OLSON requested to be sent back. Before he lost his life, Capt. OLSON receved a Purple Heart for a pungi stake incident.
