5074 GEORGE ORLANDO BROWN (Harriet N. 2860 , Benjamin 1396, Ichabod 666, Eleazer 226, Eleazer 72, Jeremiah 15, Joseph 4, Edward 1), was born in Hampden, Ohio, June 26, 1842. He enlisted in Co. B, Thirty-second Iowa Inft., Aug. 22, 1862, as a soldier in the Civil War. He married in Mason City, Iowa, Feb. 11, 1868, Sarah C. Parker, who was born in New Corydon, Ind., Feb. 8, 1847, daughter of Timothy Hains and Elizabeth (Dehays) Parker. They reside in Mason City, where Mr. Brown is a farmer.
Children:
7642 Harry Irwin, born in Norow [sic] Springs, Iowa, June 1, 1869; died in Hibbing, Minn., Oct. 1901. He was a photographer.
7643 George Arthur, born in Rock Falls, Iowa, Aug. 27, 1871; died there Jan. 1, 1875.
7644 Walter Howard, born in Rock Falls, Iowa, April 23, 1874; married in Clarion, Iowa, Oct. 23, 1901, Emeline C. Birdsall. He is a traveling salesman. Residence, Clarion. One child, Carlton Birdsall, born in Clarion, Feb. 12, 1903.
7645 Homer Newell, born in Rock Falls, Iowa, July 8, 1878; married Dec. 10, 1899, Ethel Bell Wertz. Residence, Waterloo, Iowa. Two children, George Roland, born Feb. 17, 1901; and Ada Lucile, born Oct. 8, 1902.George's parents were Thomas Brown (1794-1858) and Harriet Newell Jewett (1808-1869).
