Appointed deputy sheriff, January 1, 1947. Elected sheriff, November 1954 and November 1956. Came to Mason City from Rockwell, 1938. Wesley Methodist Church. Kiwanis, Masonic Lodges, Iowa Sheriffs' Association. North Iowa Peace Officers' Association, Cerro Gordo County Traffic Safety Council.
Hobbies - fishing, hunting, photography.
