Robert "Bob" Wilson, Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame, 2003

Bob Wilson was an active Wright County 4-H’er as a youth. He received a BA from Iowa State and a Masters in Science from UNI. Bob, upon completion of college, worked for two years with the Hancock County Extension as a youth assistant to help change a hemp plant into the current site of their fairgrounds. Bob served in the army and returned to Iowa to teach at Clear Lake and Mason City High School districts as a science teacher. Bob, while married to Mary and raising two sons, was active as a fairboard member helping with the sheep shows. He later became the sheep project leader for 4-H. Bob has been active within Cerro Gordo County 4-H for 35 years, has raised Purebred Suffolk sheep, showing with his family for several years at the Iowa State Fair. He also was a founding member of Cerro Gordo County Sheep Association for 20 plus years and served as secretary for the Iowa Suffolk Sheep Association for 22 years. Robert (Bob) Wilson is Cerro Gordo’s choice for the 2003 Hall of Fame.
